Hey readers! Here’s our hot take: It might be worth looking at non-traditional platforms to add to your social strategy. Starface has done just that— posting on the movie review app Letterboxd. Given the quippy nature of a lot of Letterboxd 'reviews,' it could be a great addition to your social strategy, especially if you have a niche that connects to a film genre.

What marketers are taking away from trends
Don't be afraid of going super niche.
I was scrolling my FYP (likely place for me to be) and noticed a deeply unexpected trend— Tudor Tok.
Though these posts are often labeled as being about the Tudor dynasty, the assembled creepy facts come from various periods and regions. What's surprising is the sheer reach of these simple photo carousels.
Maybe the success is as simple as the fact that people love the eerie and unsettling. Or that there's always an audience for content that tickles your brain. But I think a key component is the development of a niche unto itself.
TikTok, ultimately, loves niches. A clearly defined niche helps get your content out to the right audiences. If TikTok knows where to send your content, you'll only ever benefit. Trends like this are a reminder that you can develop a niche too— so long as it is clear which audiences are likely to watch through and engage with your content. So go niche, go weird— but know your audience.
